Continuation of the Mysteries of the Childhood of Jesus Christ: 6, The Star disappears.

Perhaps God wanted to make it known that he was going to punish the ungrateful Jews by the removal of his enlightenment; perhaps the star which led to the poor king and the angel which guided it did not want to show itself where appeared the pomp of a royal and malignant court; perhaps one did not need extraordinary light where shone as in its place that of the law and the prophets, the star that the Magi had seen in the East hid in Jerusalem and reappeared to the Magi only when they left of that city which kills the prophets, and which did not know the day when God came to visit it.

Here again is a figure of inspiration. It often hides: the light that first appeared to us suddenly hides in darkness, the distraught soul no longer knows where it is after having lost its guide. What to do then? Consult and listen to the doctors, who will lead you by the light of the scriptures. The star will reappear with a new glow. You will see it walking in front of you clearer than ever; and like the Magi, you will be overjoyed. But, during the time of darkness, let us follow the spirit guides and the ordinary ministers that God has placed on the chandelier of the Holy City.
